Where Dreams and Laughter Dance

Studio K opened its doors in August, 2005 and has welcomed thousands of students through its doors since. Offering classes in ballet, jazz, tap, lyrical, acrobatics, hip hop, kick line, musical theatre and more, from ages 2 through adult, Studio K has become a second home for dancers and families alike.

Studio K as a family is very passionate about supporting Dancers Against Cancer, Make-A-Wish, and local families/organizations in need.

Our mission is to provide a welcoming, encouraging atmosphere where children can learn not just to dance but to hopefully discover a love of music, movement and art. We pledge to give dancers and families a safe, nurturing learning atmosphere that offers quality instruction. We commit to investing in our students as people first and help them learn lessons about life.

Dress Code

Core Four, Teen and Advanced Ballet, Lyrical, Jazz, Pointe and Tap Classes: Black Leotard, tan or pink tights. May add black shorts for jazz and tap classes.Lyrical, pointe and ballet students may wear a solid color ballet skirt to class. Absolutely no t-shirts, sweatpants, tank tops, etc. If a dancer needs to add a layer for modesty or to accomodate being self conscious, speak to Miss Kate directly so we can help you find appropriate layers to add.

Acro, Hip Hop Kick Classes: Any color leotard or crop top, tights and booty shorts. TIGHTS are mandatory!

Twinkle Toes, Future Stars and Hip Hop Flip Flop: Any color leotard, tights, skirts, tutus, etc.

Tiny Dancers: Comfy clothes or any color dancewear.

**Dancers are required to have proper attire by Oct. 1. Dancers who come to class out of dress code will be asked to change or sit out and watch class.

Shoes

Ballet: Pink leather or canvas ballet shoes (not satin slippers from Walmart)

Jazz: Tan jazz boots

Tap: Black tap shoes, Mary Jane style for pre-dance and combo, slip on or tie style for all others.

Lyrical: Bare feet, tan half soles or tan jazz shoes

Acro: Tan jazz shoes

Hip Hop: Black sneakers

**Dancers are required to have the proper shoes by Oct. 1. Without proper shoes, dancers will be asked to sit and watch class

Hair

HAIR must be in a bun for everyone in combo and above!!! This is non negotiable. If your child's hair is too short for a bun, it needs to be pulled cleanly off the face. Dancers without hair in a bun will be asked to properly fix their hair or sit out.

Rules for Students

* No talking while teacher is talking

* No chewing gum in class

* Quiet tap shoes when not dancing

* Keep hands and feet to yourself

* No sitting down in class, unless instructed

* No hanging on the ballet barres

* Ask permission to use the restroom

* No running in the lobby or studios

* No food or drinks (Except water) in the classrooms

* No street shoes in the dance rooms

* You must wait in the alcove to be picked up

* No students in Miss Kate's office

** Parents please review these rules with your student before class begins.

Rules for Parents

* We do not allow parents in the dance rooms during classes except on designated observation nights (Tiny Dancers is an exception to this)

* Please no food or drink in the lobby or dance rooms

* Please make sure your child has gone to the bathroom before class

* Children under age 10 should be dropped off inside the lobby AND picked up from the lobby

* Please be courteous to the staff and other students and have your child to class on time

* For the safety of your child and courtesy of the teacher and other classes, please be sure to pick up your child promptly

* Please do not allow children to run around or play in the lobby or parking lots

* The office is for staff only

* Please remember to look for newsletters, papes and notices in your email, on our Facebook page and through our text alert system

Kate Lenaway Undercoffer, Director

Kate started dancing at age 3 and has never stopped. She graduated from Kane High School in 2003 and then attended Allegheny College, where she studied Theatre and American History. During College, she served on the executive boardof the Orchesis Dance Company and the Allegheny Dance Team. She also performed in numerous productions at Allegheny and at Meadville's Academy Theatre. She was a member of the Kappa Kappa Gamma Sorority and Lambda Nu Honor Society. Kate has choreographed numerous musicals in the Kane area. She has two kids, Rory who is 11 and Trace who is 9. She loves coffee, her dog Millie, Netflix, all things Disney and RuPaul's Drag Race.
